VisiConsult has improved its proprietary NDT app for materials testers and released a comprehensive update. The free app quickly helps with common calculations needed for X-ray inspections on a daily basis.
The VisiConsult NDT app was already very comprehensive in terms of content before the update and this release improves it even further. Additionally, several more industry standards and calculation tools are conveniently provided. For example, the app can provide assistance in selecting the appropriate image quality test specimen, geometries and beam doses that are calculated quickly. The glossary eliminates the need to spend time referring back to the standards, and the definitions of the formulas can be looked up as well. Quick conversion between metric, imperial and other engineering units is also possible.
Among other things, the ease of use has been enhanced. It is now more intuitive and the information can be accessed more quickly. The design has been improved with easy-to-understand icons. This means that materials testers can reach their calculation target more quickly while saving time as well.
In addition, the technology behind the app has been optimized by replacing the two different code strains for Android and iOS with a common and modern code based on the latest technology. This change is in preparation for future updates which are planned to release on a regular basis. For example, a heat map showing the distribution of image blur across the detector area is planned – you can look forward to this and other new tools and features as well.
Users can also look forward to a new home screen. Favorite tools and functions can be organized based on individual preference.

Despite these advances and updates, VisiConsult is still able to provide this app for free. It is available for download in German and English.
